An old warehouse located in the Born neighborhood of Barcelona has been converted into a multipurpose space where wine is the protagonist. The premises, which have 63 m2, are articulated through a central body that gives access to adjoining rooms through stone arches, with vaulted ceilings. It was decided to maintain these elements to influence the authenticity of the space and make a transition as least invasive as possible. It has also been decided to respect the aesthetics of the typical buildings in the historic Born neighborhood, maintaining the stone pavement, walls and ceiling, which have been cleaned and restored.
The contemporary touch is introduced through lighting and custom-made furniture that incorporates shiny lacquer finishes. On a chromatic level, different greens and blues are combined, as if they were different shades of water or “agüitas”: the central table is varnished in turquoise green, the wooden chairs and stools in emerald green, and the curtains in moss green. . The counterpoint between the existing elements and the contemporary design pieces is, for interior designer Rodrigo Izquierdo, “the most outstanding feature of the project, since it allows the creation of a coherent atmosphere in relation to the identity of the new brand.”

Regarding the furniture, both the central table, the stools and the lamp are an original design by the designer. The top of the table is made up of rectangular tiles arranged in a geometric pattern and the legs are configured from perforated mesh-shaped plates that, depending on the visual perspective, suggest a “moiré” effect; The stools in the lounge area, with an industrial look and made of solid lacquered wood, evoke bottle caps and the lamp, which consists of two symmetrical suspended elements and spheres of light in an alternating arrangement, evokes wine molecules.

“the most outstanding feature of the project, since it allows us to create a coherent atmosphere in relation to the identity of the new brand.”
